The aspect that makes this film a lot more terrifying is the choice of lighting. The there isn't a lot of lighting used in most scenes, this creates suspension and tension throughout the film. In the trailer, the producers intend on captivating you through certain aspect of the film, in this case, the effective use of lighting. Although there isn't much lighting used in this trailer, the constant use of torches have a significant impact in the trailer and film as it demonstrates fear and insecurity. As the trailer starts, you can notice very few light is used and this generally occurs throughout the trailer of this film. The connotations of dark surroundings could be fear- doesn't have a positive feeling to it. The constant use of low key lighting creates an atmospheric and intense mood in a film- this is why these produces had decided to use constant low key lighting.
